Refreshing CAD files inserted as Objects

Hello all,

I have a title block that I am going to be using for several drawings.  I have inserted this AutoCAD title block as an object and checked the box to create a link.  Supposedly if this box is checked anything that is updated in the CAD file will appear in the map layout drawing.  Trouble is that the insertion size is different so that I have to drag the title block out to be formatted correctly each and every time.  Although occasionally ArcMAP actually will look at the file and nothing has to be moved. to fit together consistently.

Any ideas on how to make ArcGIS look to the CAD drawing to check for changes without reinserting it?  Every time?

Thanks

Dustin

If anyone has an answer to this issue, it'd be extremely welcome.

Importing a CAD 2013 titleblock as an ArcMap 10.1 object creates an object sized upon the CAD viewport, not the CAD titleblock.  What this means is that an 8.5x11" titleblock doesn't import as an 8.5x11" object - it imports based upon the current CAD screen view (what appears on the monitor when viewing the CAD program).  The CAD object border is also the extents of the CAD screen view, not the CAD titleblock.

The issue with this is whenever a CAD titleblock is imported, it must be resized to the proper dimensions.  If the CAD object is changed, the ArcMap update from CAD resizes the CAD object to it's original size, which must be resized.  If there is a method to lock the object sizing, to import based upon true size, or to fix the issue, please reply.  Searching the forums and internet hasn't proven promising.

Any help is appreciated!  Cheers.
