Is it possible to maintain the topology from an Autodesk Map drawing with the ArcGIS for Autodesk plugin

I'm used to working in Autodesk and then having to go through various routines to get my data into Arc for our GIS so I was very pleased with the idea of the ArcGIS for Autodesk plugin. However, I'm finding problems in exporting topology that will retain my donuts. I can either use the traditional MAPEXPORT routine, which maintains my topology, but doesn't export as a full feature class with any data I've attached using the plugin, or I can simply save the drawing and open it in Arc in which case it has the attached data, but has lost the topology and all the donuts have been filled in.
