How do I insert tag colors in Label Expression ?

I have a troule writing a tag code to display color in red in the Label Expreesion.  It keeps showing blank

What might go wrong here ?

Here is the code :

"<CLR red='255'>&  [ID] &  "</CLR>" +  "- "  +  [NAME]

What I need is showing numbers in red and street name in black

Example :

300 -  Rancho Road

ahhhh  it worked  had to re-read carefully and found the problem.   Now it is fixed
