I'm trying to isolate each polygon in my index layer by creating individual layers for them to perform a SelectByLocation on point data within each polygon. Is there any way to script this? I'm working with town polygons and Dam point data. This will be the first step in a script that I have already written. I know a similar process can be done with the Page Definition function, but I want to be able to have a generic script in case data in future maps don't have a common field to enable Page Definition.
