When exporting videos/animation using the animation toolbar or time slider toolbar the image quality is very poor.  Changing resolution or compression quality does not improve the result nor does exporting sequential jpg images.  Exporting individual files by going to "File" > "Export Map" produces good quality files.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to what is wrong or is this a typical result for this feature.

Thanks

Lets start with the basics then.  Chime in if you have successfully or unsuccessfully used this feature.  You don't need to give details just a couple of words.

Thanks.

By default, when you apply compression using a ??codec??, the resulting video is going to be pixelated or not that sharp.

The lesser the compression, the larger the AVI or sequential image size on disk. For exporting to AVI??s you could choose not to apply any compression by choosing the ??Fully Uncompressed?? codec from the Compression Settings dialog. Also, if you have other 3rd party codecs from other video/animation processing software, you can try those as well. For sequential image export, you can try BMP instead of JPEG.

Here is a help topic about some tips on exporting videos:

Hope this helps,

Unfortunately none of that has an effect on quality.  Thank you though.
