About problem setting dynamic object visibility in layout

I have a layout to print. I'm adding a north arrow to this layout. But I want this north arrow to be dynamic. That is, during the "Print Map" operation, the user should be able to turn the visibility of the northern arrow on and off with a parameter (layoutOptions). Is it possible to do such a thing?
