JMap Brightness and Contrast

Greetings,

Is there a way to impose and persist settings for brightness and contrast on the JMap regardless of what layers are being loaded. i.e., without affecting/apart from its basemaps' opacity level? I have to maintain/track each independent basemap's opacity level as well.

Hi Carlos,

There is no setting on the JMap for this.  Opacity is set on layers only, so you are right there isn't a global setting for all layers.

However for 10.2 we're adding Brightness, Contract and Gamma methods to the Tiled Layers, so would this help?

Hi Mark,

Sounds very promising for most. I'm gotten smarter with the API and have moved to using a set of map packages displaying a variety of raster data as base maps on dynamic map service layers, and I have provided ordering and transparency capability for each. If this new feature is available for them as well, I think I can pull this off.

The methods will be available for the ArcGISDynamicMapServiceLayer/ ArcGISLocalDynamicMapServiceLayer class.

As for the release date, I'm afraid I can't tell you just yet, but let's say we're towards the end of our development and planning product certification...  watch this space 🙂
