One of my developers believes that Java 6 is embedded in the ArcGIS software. I've not heard that, before. So, I thought I would come to the source to find out the truth of it all. Has anyone heard that? I am attempting to verify the vulnerabilities pertaining to Java 6, since it has not been supported for some time. Please let me know if this is accurate. He did show me that there were clearly folders that reflect Java within the ArcGIS folders. So, I guess I have the following questions:
1) Is ArcGIS using Java, if so what is installed on 10.1?
2) It is not showing up as installed on the Operating System, so is it being installed in a non-standard location?
3) If it is not showing up in the standard location, how is it being updated when Java updates are being applied?
Any help would be appreciated.
