It would be helpful if when you have a mosaic dataset enabled for time and add it to a map, you could set it up to start on a unique time value and only draw imagery for that time period.

Currently, you can have a mosaic dataset enabled for time, with say 20 years of imagery in it, but when you add it to the map - by default it opens of the time slider and shows all of the available imagery years in the mosaic dataset. This is slow to load. It would be nice to have it open to a unique period of time (most recent imagery) and just draw those images.

Once you start working with the time slider and pick a unique period to show imagery, it only draws that period of imagery and is fast - but for users who first pull the layer into a map and are looking at the most recent on top, along with everything else in the mosaic dataset, it's slow and cumbersome.

Adding this feature to the 'Set Mosaic Dataset Properties' tool in ArcGIS Pro would be great - because then it would just a be a default setting that could be placed and more hands off for users.

Thank you,

Jon
