how do I upload a ge kml file to argis online?

I'm new to arcgis online.  I have a number of Google Earth KML files that I have created that I want to upload.  When I got to Add -> Add Layer from File and choose the KML file it is an unsupported file type.  Is there something I'm missing here?

Hey Adam,

Can you reply with one of the files you're trying to upload? According to the doc below, .kml is supported.

Thanks Joshua, I was able to upload it by going to the Content menu. I was trying to upload it through the Map menu and it wasn't working.  It would appear however, that I am unable to analyze it without converting it to a layer.  Is there a way to convert the KML to a layer within arcgis online?
