Job Summary:

We are a privately held, private equity backed firm with multiple subsidiaries, in hyper growth mode. This position is a high impact, high leverage, high visibility position with an opportunity to have a multinational impact. We are looking for an energetic Development Director with specialty in GIS, who can adapt to new situations in an exciting but ever-changing M&A environment. Possibilities for growth are exponential! This role will help plan, design, develop, and implement GIS databases and applications and provide their expertise with GIS modeling, data analysis, integration of overlays, tables, maps, and more

Job Responsibilities (Including, but not limited to):

  • Works with the business and development teams to design and create custom GIS application solutions from the ground up to support the business and external client needs.

  • Participates in and leads discussions, as well as provides recommendations, on architecture and overall direction of company applications.

  • Involved in all aspects of the product life cycle including solution design, implementation, and testing.

  • Use wireframes and mockups to build applications and software that lead to intuitive user experiences.

  • Adheres to change management process to resolve application defects and implement enhancements.

  • Provide technical documentation as needed.

  • Operate in a DevSecOps model where the GIS team builds and supports applications/systems in

    production.

  • Maintain client confidence and protect confidentiality of information.

  • Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders.

  • Serve at the direction of the CIO and perform additional duties as required.

  • Experience with ESRI, ArcGIS, Vetro, Schema Modeling, .shp & .kmz files and other data sets and landbase uses.

  • Experience presenting and communicating GIS related workflows and opportunities to end-users and stakeholders.

  • Ensure the integrity and stability of the GIS platform and related ecosystem delivering GIS services to all stakeholders.

  • Proven track record of delivering GIS solutions at scale.

  • Experience working with both Engineering and Construction work groups to define and

    standardize process and workflows.

  • Travel as required.

  • Additional responsibilities range from managing budgets and project costs to training new

employees.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required. Ideally, with a computer science or computer information focus, but not required.

  • Energetic, ability to adapt and perform in a fast-paced development and business environment.

  • Highly analytical and an expert in multitasking.

  • Telecommunications and/or Civil Utility industry experience preferred.

  • 5+ years of experience working in a GIS development capacity required.

  • 3+ years of managing/leading GIS development required.

  • Ability to work effectively across the entire development team, internal business executives and

    external clients.
