Hidden Dialog Box occurs while Geoprocessing Model Arcmap 9.31

While processing a model, the Status Dialog Box disappears and I it cannot be brought forward of the Model or the ArcMap Windows.  I've had this happen often and have lost complex models because it appears the only way to get back is to kill the ArcMap process.

Has anyone else had this problem?   Has anyone found a way to re-expose the hidden window or prevent this from happening.

I am running Windows 7 64bit with all current updates.

Have you tried using Alt + Tab to cycle through open windows?

Another method that may work is to open task manager (crl alt delete, select task manager), select the process for the status window and click the "switch to" button.

I am using 10.1 and have the same issue. Cant open the model dialog box and only workaround is to close it. Is this a know bug?
