I am using ArcGIS 10. The cost path tool works in the interface and validates in model but when I try to run the model I get this error message:

Executing (Cost Distance): CostDistance C:\test\selectedschool.shp C:\test\costsurf.tif C:\test\cdist # C:\test\cback
ERROR 010414: Error in creating a Raster from a geodataset.
Failed to execute (Cost Distance).
Failed at Thu Jul 01 12:57:12 2010 (Elapsed Time: 13.00 seconds)

I am fairly new using model builder and am not sure what a geodataset is and I cannot find the term in the help documents. Can anyone tell me what might be causing this error in model builder but not when I run the tool with the same inputs outside of model builder? Thank you.

Hi coldmodesty,

I wonder whether anybody found a solution to this problem.

I'm having a similar issue when using ArcGIS 10 to execute the Weighted Overlay function.

I am inputting ten integer rasters with various influences (summing to 100%) and set scale values. When I run the function I am presented with "error 010414: Error in creating a Raster from a geodataset".

I'm not sure what I might be doing wrong as all my rasters seem to be consistent (cell size, integer, etc), and my output file is located on the local drive.

I'd appreciate any guidance that anyone can offer.

Thank you, Magda
