Registering view with SDE using command line

I am trying to run the command line to register a view with SDE, something like this:'sdelayer -o register -l'. I am using ArcGIS 10.3.1 and get the error "sdelayer is not recognized as an internal or external command. I read on some other forums that this method is no longer valid past 10.2. Is there another method?

Starting from 10.3, the SDE Command line tools were deprecated.

Esri introduced the capability to Register Views with Geodatabase using GP Tools at 10.5. Take a look at the below links:
