Hi - I am looking to make a connection to a Filemaker database.

I use ArcGIS 10.3.1 Advanced License and have a basic database that i have created over the years that i use on my personal laptop.

I work for a small organization that is now in the process of connecting our departments with a FileMaker database.

A lot of the information that I have in my database that i update regularly can be used to update the information for other departments through this FIleMaker service. I need to be able to write to and read from certain fields that are related in my ArcGIS database and the FileMaker database.

My laptop has access to our organizational server - Windows Server 2012.

I have a basic understanding of these principles, but have never made these kinds of connections on my own. i do know that it is possible and probably simple, but i need some guidance if anyone can help point me in the right direction, that would be fantastic.

Arcgis does not use Filemaker databases to store geodata. You can try Oracle, SQlServer, PostgreSQL with POSTGIS or the new free spatial DB Spatialite
