Compressing a Geodatabase

I have a GeoDatabse that has a raster catalog and many individual images. These file geodatabases run about 5-10GB. I need to trasnfer them to field offices. Is there a way I can compress them to a smaller size (winzip doesn't work) so I can try to send them over the network. My other option is loading portable hard drives and sending them to each office. Thanks

I use FTP to share heavy files/folders across the organization.

Thanks for the thoughts, but I believe FTP is not an option because of network security or internal network

You may want to look into File geodatabases: compress vs. compact—Help | ArcGIS Desktop  and see if that will help with your task.
