Apologies for the newbie question.  I have an incorrectly placed point.  I would like to click and move it on the map.  Afterward I would like to update the attribute table to reflect the new location.  How do I do this?  I remember doing it once before, the point had a square around it and I could simply drag it to a new location.  I forgot how I did it and can't figure it out.

Thanks in advance for any help.

The problem was that the data needed to be exported as a shapefile in order to allow editing.

"exported as a shapefile", huh....

What was the original format of the data?

Read up on editing in the help files. And also the advantages of keeping data in geodatabases.
