The Basemap Gallery Custom widget provides some additional functionality from the out of the box Basemap Gallery widget to give developers more customization.

Basemaps now load in parallel with skeleton placeholders, the default basemap is applied on application load, the active indicator live-syncs when the basemap changes elsewhere, and the gallery adds favorites (star to pin, F key), a search filter for large galleries, row-aware keyboard navigation, and reduced motion support. Also fixes XML import edge cases and validates item types when adding by ID.
