Hi everyone,
My name is Steven Castaneda, and I’m preparing to start my technical support internship at Esri this month. I’m currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in information systems and technology with a focus in cybersecurity at California State University, San Bernardino.
After working for 15 years in an entirely different industry, I decided to pursue a new career in tech because it combines my love of problem-solving with the opportunity to make a difference. This internship is a major step in that journey, and my long-term goal is to become a full-time member of the Esri team, ideally contributing to cybersecurity efforts that support geospatial systems.
I want to give a big thank you to Leslie Wilson. If I had not met her at the CSUSB Cyber & Tech Job Fair and received her advice to apply to Esri and take one of the MOOCs, I wouldn’t be here today.
Although I have been assigned a mentor for my internship, I’d still love to connect with others in this community, especially those with experience in cybersecurity or technical support or who’ve gone through a career change themselves. I believe there’s always something valuable to learn from every connection.
Please feel free to add me on LinkedIn as well. I'm always open to building meaningful professional relationships and learning from others. www.linkedin.com/in/stevencastaneda7
I'm looking forward to getting to know a lot of you and developing with you all here!
