Hello, I created a portfolio using CSS, HTML, and JavaScript. I am going to make it live by Friday and would love any feedback! I did three projects, two in college and one in my internship, but other than that I've been consumed in my real career afterwards, so not too many side projects I've taken on. Hoping to do a tree canopy project for my home town this summer! I'm also interested in any ideas that other's have worked on and didn't require a whole lot of time, but were educational and produced useful information. I work with ArcGIS Pro, AutoCAD, and VS code. I am still learning python and arcade. Find my page here, https://avamaarie.github.io/amendoza.portfolio/  but again it is in it's rudimentary stage and shouldn't be judge until Friday! Thank you, I will kindly take suggestions on additions to my portfolio's page prior to release as well, just keep in mind I may already be working towards them 🙂

Hi AvaMarie, this is so impressive! I am feeling inspired to create something similar, as I also know CSS, HTML, and JavaScript. Thank you for sharing this as a practical example of real-world applications of these scripting languages. I looked at your LinkedIn that you linked on your portfolio, and you seem to have a lot of internship/job experiences! Are you considering including any information about these experiences or your resume? I wonder if there's a way to embed a link to an ESRI Story Map, or something similar, to show an example of your GIS experience within your portfolio? Amazing job again!!

Hi Ava, Your portfolio looks great so far, it is inspiring to see how you're applying your skills in both GIS and web development! I'm still learning Python and programming, so seeing what can be accomplished with a little imagination and hard work inspires me. Your tree canopy project sounds like a meaningful and impactful idea, and I’d like to see how it develops. Keep pushing forward, what you are building now could inspire others to start their own journey too!

Hi Ava. Your portfolio is already shaping up nicely and it is great to see how you are combining web development with your GIS background. It is exciting that you are planning a tree canopy project for your hometown. That sounds like a meaningful and impactful way to apply your skills. I completely understand the challenge of balancing a career while trying to grow your portfolio, but you are clearly on the right path. For quick but educational project ideas, mapping public amenities, local trail networks, or doing a simple spatial analysis using open data could be great options. I am also working with ArcGIS Pro and VS Code, and learning Python has opened up a lot of new possibilities.  From one GIS girlie enthusiast to another, I adore the color palette you chose. :artist_palette: I'd love to create something similar, but I don't have many programming skills. :laptop_computer: Although, I must admit that I use Claude as my AI, and it's been helping me so much with all the code I need. Maybe I'll try using it to create a landing page for my portfolio made with ArcGIS StoryMaps! 🗺️ Good luck with everything! 🍀
