Hey Esri YPN community! I’m thrilled to share that I’ve recently joined the Esri Young Professionals Network, and I’m so excited to belong to this amazing space full of passionate GIS folks! I’m not new to GIS, I’ve been working with spatial data, creating maps, and exploring tools like ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online for a while now. I love how GIS lets me blend creativity and data to solve real-world problems. Joining YPN feels like the perfect way to connect with others, share ideas, and take my GIS journey to the next level as I gear up for grad school. You can check out my work and connect with me on LinkedIn: www.linkedin.com/in/efesoa-ataman-geospatial-data-analyst.
I’d love to connect with peers in roles like geospatial data analysis, urban planning, or environmental GIS. I’m also keen to hear about upcoming YPN events, like virtual meetups or conference socials , and I’d be stoked to join or help spread the word. If you’re a pro, I’d love to learn from you as a mentor, guidance on navigating grad school apps or mastering advanced GIS techniques would be awesome. And if you’re just starting out, I’m happy to share what I’ve learned so far! Let’s keep each other in the loop on GIS trends, like AI in mapping and grow together. Drop a comment, send me a message, or connect on LinkedIn—I can’t wait to meet you all

Welcome, Efesoa. Your excitement is contagious and it is great to have you in the YPN community. I really admire how you are using GIS to bridge creativity and data. That is one of the things that drew me to this field as well. Your focus on geospatial analysis, urban planning, and environmental GIS lines up with many of my own interests, and I would be happy to connect and share ideas or resources. Best of luck as you prepare for grad school. Let’s definitely stay in touch. Here is my LinkedIn if you would like to connect there: https://www.linkedin.com/in/ronaldgburns/

Up & Onwards,
Ron Burns, GISP-E
