Hello everyone!
My name is Julie Lazor, and I am very excited to connect with fellow young professionals in the GIS and YPN space! About me: I hold a Master of Science in GIS and a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science and Policy with a Minor in Biology, both from California State University, Long Beach! I have worked in both the environmental consulting and gas utility space, but am looking to pivot towards something more GIS and community-focused!
Outside of work, I volunteer with two amazing organizations, the GPN Vanguard Cabinet and Women + In Geospatial. In the GPN VC, I am entering my third and final year on the cabinet, and in WIG+, I serve as both the Mentorship Coordinator Lead and Member Content Manager. I find volunteering with these organizations to be so fulfilling, as I not only get to meet so many amazing and new people from all over the world, but I also get to connect so many professionals with resources to help them succeed. I think back to so many people who have helped me, and continue to help me, so I find it so important that we all, as a GIS and Young Professional community, continue to support and uplift one another. So with that said, please don't hesitate to reach out if you ever need support!
Outside of work, I enjoy traveling, hiking, boxing, watching movies, and petting every dog I encounter.
I am looking forward to growing more with the Esri YPN community!
