Hello! My name is Nicholas Tota, I am a GIS Analyst for a fast growing city in Central Florida. I only have two years of experience in the GIS field, but my background is in data analysis and automation. I have a masters in data analytics from Western Governors University.
The transition from flat, tabular data to geospatial data has been much smoother than expected thanks to all the wonderful resources available, but there's always more to learn! I am excited to be a part of this community, to learn from others hard earned experience, and to contribute what I can.
Currently, my interests lie heavily in creating custom geoprocessing tools using arcgis and arcgis api for python. If that also sounds interesting to you, let me know and we can discuss it!
Welcome, Nicholas! Great to have you in the community. Your background in data analytics is a solid foundation, and it’s always exciting to see people transitioning into GIS with a fresh perspective. I’m more focused on water utilities, environmental GIS, and community engagement, but I definitely admire the work being done with automation and scripting. Looking forward to learning alongside you and seeing where your projects go. Feel free to connect: https://www.linkedin.com/in/ronaldgburns/
