I am new to the "Esri Technical Exam" world and am curious about how Esri retires older technical certification exams. I am seeking to obtain the "ArcGIS Maps SDK for JavaScript" Associate Certification, which is currently dated "2024", and I noticed that Esri will release a newer version ("2026") in November 2026. I am wondering when the older certification will retire, if at all, and if it would be better to wait until the release of the newer one so that I don't spend the money on a certification that will last for only, say, a year. Any help on this will be greatly appreciated!

Hi @Brennen_Reilly great question! Since this exam is publishing the second half of the year, the 2024 version should be retiring in December. If you are able to wait until ArcGIS Maps SDK for JavaScript 2026 publishes in November 2026, you may want to wait for that. Once we finalize dates, we will post it here: https://community.esri.com/t5/esri-technical-certification-program-information/esri-exam-retirement-...
Hope that's helpful!
