Exam Purpose

The Enterprise Administration Professional exam validates skills related to deploying ArcGIS Enterprise; configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting the core components; and managing updates to services and apps. This exam will test the candidate’s experience applying these skills and processes to support enterprise GIS workflows.

Target Candidate Audience

The Enterprise Administration Professional exam is for candidates with experience applying ArcGIS concepts and processes to relative workflows. It is recommended candidates have at least 2 years of experience installing, configuring, and supporting ArcGIS Enterprise. Target audience is also candidates who have the following or similar roles: ArcGIS Enterprise administrators, ArcGIS consultants, System integrators, System administrators, GIS managers.

Description of Qualified Candidate

The Enterprise Administration Professional exam is designed for candidates with at least two years of knowledge, understanding, and experience with ArcGIS Enterprise. It is recommended that the candidate have extensive experience implementing and administering ArcGIS Enterprise according to Esri best practices. A qualified candidate can troubleshoot common technology issues and distinguish between ArcGIS Enterprise components and supported systems issues, such as RDBMS and web servers.

 

Candidate Qualifications

A qualified candidate should be able to perform the following tasks:

  • Install and configure a base ArcGIS Enterprise deployment
  • Troubleshoot ArcGIS Enterprise deployments
  • Understand, implement, and troubleshoot ArcGIS software licensing
  • Follow ArcGIS Enterprise security best practices
  • Understand basic operating system administration
  • Integrate identity store/provider
  • Federate an ArcGIS Server
  • Publish and administer web services
  • Manage users, groups, and content
  • Differentiate between service types and their uses
  • Understand item dependencies
  • Access and use the REST API
  • Register data stores (e.g., folders, databases, cloud storage)
  • Identify when Python could be used to automate administration workflows
  • Access and interpret ArcGIS Enterprise logs
  • Use WebGISDR
  • Use appropriate Esri automation deployment methods
  • Understand different ArcGIS Server roles (e.g., GeoEvent Server, Image Server, Notebook Server, etc.)
  • Determine system health, conduct performance tuning, and identify bottlenecks across an ArcGIS Enterprise deployment

The following tasks are considered beyond the knowledge, skills, and abilities of the qualified candidate:

  • Install and configure a high-availability deployment of ArcGIS Enterprise
  • Auto-scale ArcGIS Enterprise
  • Computer networking administration
  • Administer geodatabases
  • Application development
  • Perform GIS analyses
  • Deploy ArcGIS Enterprise on Kubernetes
  • ArcGIS Server extensions (e.g., ArcGIS Maritime, ArcGIS Data Interoperability)
  • Author Python scripts
  • Non-Esri system software
