I have attached two images concerning on Network diagram from two versions of the UN Foundation. I ask why version 2 has less number of templates compared to version 1.3. We are using version 2 now, but we cannot create an Electric Basic diagram; we want to use templates like version 1.3. Can I get help

Hi @RomuldKiobya
Theses datasets are not the same versions.

- Version 2 was released with the only 3 default diagram templates; Basic, ExpandContainers, and CollapseContainers. Those are always installed at any UN creation.

- Version 1.3 was released with custom diagram templates. Those have been added as extra diagram templates with this dataset version.

That's the difference.

@RomuldKiobya, you can apply the following workflow
1/ Run the Export Diagram Template Definition tool to export definitions of any diagram template you want from dataset version 1.3. You will end with 2 output files; ndbd (Rule and Layout Definition) and ndld (Layer Definition) => Export Diagram Template Definitions tool hep topic
2/ Run the Add Diagram Template tool to create a new diagram template in dataset version 2 using the ndbd and ndl files you get from step 1/ as input. => Add Diagram Template tool help topic
You must repeat this workflow for any template existing in version 1.3 that you want to see in version 2.

Hi, Thank You very much. I have achieved this from the file GDB.

I have read an article

 This tool is not supported when working with a utility network or trace network service. You must use either a utility network or trace network in a file or mobile geodatabase, or a database connection to a utility network or trace network in an enterprise geodatabase. When working with an enterprise geodatabase, the following are requirements:

What does mean  is it feature service?

@RomuldKiobya:

If you use a utility network service (network trace service), this means that your utility network dataset (trace network dataset) exists in an Enterprise geodatabase (SQL Server, Oracle, postGreSQL, Hana, etc).
You can access this dataset either through the published service or using a direct connection .sde file to your Enterprise geodatabase. But depending on the operation you want to run, one or the other way to access your data can work or not.
To run any Network Diagrams administrative tools (that is, all those available in the Configuration toolset under the Network Diagrams Tools toolbox), you must browse to and select the input utility network (trace network) using a direct connection to your Enterprise geodatabase (.sde file).
These tools do not apply to the utility network layer/trace network layer published to your ArcGIS portal. You have the same constraints when running any admin tools provided to configure and maintain your utility network (such as the tools available in the Administration toolset under the Utility Network Tools toolbox).

In other words, when working with a UN/TN created in a Enterprise geodatabase, if you want to run any configuration tasks that is going to impact your UN/TN data model or your diagram template settings, you must use a direct .sde connection file. When editing your UN/TN features or creating/maintaining your network diagrams, you must use the related published service.
