Eaton integration with GIS using multispeak

We have a client that wishes to show their meter data from Eaton Yukon ODMS inside of a Portal web map. The goal is to be able to click on a meter in the web map (from a map service published from a SQL Server EGDB) and be able to see the Eaton data in the pop-up. Eaton does store the backend data in a separate SQL Server db on the server but they do not want us to do a direct connect. Instead, we must use multispeak to make calls and (possibly) write the data to the meter feature class in the EGDB.

We reached out to Eaton and it sounds like we need to do a few things:

1) Become a member of multispeak. This runs $1,200 - $6,000 annually

2) Become multispeak certified (?)

3) Install an additional server. Currently the client is hosting ArcGIS Enterprise and the Yukon system on a single server. The additional server would be where we install the library, create the ETL process in Python, and make the calls.

Just wondering if any other utilities have done this and if this process sounds correct. We are not able to get any official documentation from Eaton until we have the multispeak membership but want to verify with others before we make the associated purchases.

Thanks!

Just checking to see if this ever went anywhere for you.  We are going through something similar.

Hi @DerekMair. No, the client wanted to pause on this while we work on utility network implementation. It seems that we would've needed to also become multispeak members though and the certification is actually regarding the implementation rather than for an individual or organization.

Please do let me know if you find out anything additional!
