GeoEd (GeoTech Center)

Published on ‎02-20-2026 10:20 AM by Esri Contributor | Updated on ‎03-11-2026 01:33 PM

GeoEd’26 is a free, three-day professional development conference offered by the  Geospatial Technology Consortium for Community Colleges (GTC3)  - formerly the GeoTech Center designed for educators who want to teach, analyze, and communicate with location in mind. Hosted at Dallas College Brookhaven Campus in Dallas, Texas, GeoEd’26 brings together the geospatial curious and the spatially obsessed for hands-on learning, thoughtful conversation, and practical takeaways you can use immediately.

The main conference runs May 30–June 1, with optional pre-conference workshops on May 28–29 for participants who want deeper, slower, tool-forward immersion. Across sessions, GeoEd’26 focuses on real teaching contexts: building maps and apps that support course content, using spatial data to ask better questions, and designing geospatial experiences that are inclusive, ethical, and actually useful.

GeoEd’26 is grounded in the idea that spatial thinking is not a niche skill or a GIS-only club—it’s a way of reasoning that cuts across disciplines. Whether you’re mapping historical narratives, analyzing enrollment patterns, supporting program evaluation, or designing learning experiences, this conference is about turning location into insight.
