ICARTT (.ict) file format is a standardized text file that is used to document atmospheric data, and is used in airborne campaigns conducted by NASA, NOAA, and similar organizations: https://www.earthdata.nasa.gov/about/esdis/esco/standards-practices/icartt. Currently, ICARTT formatted data is not supported to directly ingest into ArcGIS Pro. In order to ingest, it must be converted to a CSV format via scripting and then it can be imported. This poses a barrier for users who would want to use ICARTT data, but who may not have the coding background to follow this process.

In order to break this user barrier, I propose including support for ICARTT format in a future release of ArcGIS Pro. Ideally with this support ICARTTs could be imported via the "Add Data" tool and when imported, would show up as a table, similar to importing an excel or CSV file.

With this support enabled, it will save immense time for GIS users of ICARTT data, lower the learning curve for new users of ICARTT data, and expand the ICARTT/Airborne data user community to those who don't have the technical background needed to bring this data in ArcGIS Pro. (This support could also potentially increase the GIS user community to the ICARTT users who don't currently include GIS in their workflow).

Attached are example images of an ICARTT File. Thank you for your consideration!
