Abstract:
We are developing a python tool to calculate the spatiotemporal risk estimate of traffic accidents in Dallas. Since accidents occur only along street networks, the SANET software is what we use to calculate shapefiles of initial spatial network kernel density estimates for each hour of the week. Our python program is then used to smooth these risk estimates over time. This research is part of a broader project funded by NIST in order to support Dallas Fire-Rescued Department 911 dispatching.
