The impending decommission of Adobe Flash products at federal agencies requires a secure and easy to implement alternative for current mapping applications. The ESRI ArcGIS Online and ArcGIS Web AppBuilder platforms provide viable replacements, allowing the federal agencies to reproduce their Flash-built applications in a more secure environment, while improving functionality and adding user tools. ArcGIS platform also demonstrates its “out of the box” functionality, allowing non-developers to produce meaningful map applications.
