Building an app to monitor urban landscape water need

Presentation title

Building an app to monitor urban landscape water need

Abstract

A large portion of residential water usage in the U.S. is for landscape irrigation, but oftentimes more water is used than is actually needed. This presentation will discuss how we are using aerial imagery and weather station data to estimate required irrigation needs for urban parcels, which is then compared to actual water usage obtained from water providers. This provides a measure of how effectively the water is being used, and customers can be given feedback to help improve watering habits.
