Accepted Timestamp Format in GeoEvent

Dear All: 

I would like to send a real-time timestamp from my Raspberry Pi to GeoEvent. I am looking for how the format in which the timestamp needs to be in. 

For example: UNIX, mm/dd/yyyy, 00.00.0000, etc.
