The necessity to know where to find showers, vendors, campsites, etc. at large festivals (Coachella and Stagecoach in particular) could be solved with a real-time map of resources. In addition to creating a map for attendees, the production side of the festivals could use Arc-GIS to keep updated on the progress of different departments with such an application. I worked at Coachella this year, and definitely saw the need for such a product.
You would just need someone to make a map.. then could go the easy route and use an App like Field Maps to view it, or create a custom app specific to the festival. There are many examples of maps on ArcGIS online where people are making these kinds of maps. Just one example that came up with search.. https://www.arcgis.com/apps/mapviewer/index.html?webmap=080292b995674661891793333691a108
One of our past hackathons had a project that may help give you some ideas how to approach a project like this using ArcGIS. Check out FestiFlo
