I am trying to figure out how I can copy the symbology representation from a point geodatabase file to another point geodatabase file with the same attributes. The symbology displays the point differently based on one attribute field. I have tried doing it in Arc Catalog by importing representation from a .lyr file, but it does not work. It does not change how the point is displayed based on the attribute, it just displays all the points the same way.
Any idea how to do this, or should I just forget geodatabases all together and go back to the much easier to work with shape files?
