My PC was recently upgraded to 10.6 and since then I've noticed that every .xls file I expand in Catalog contains my sheet "Sheet1$" and also an "ESRI_MAPINFO_SHEET$" file. When I view the item description it says "the item's XML contains errors". I am not doing anything different than I did in 10.4 and have tried saving as a 2016 worksheet and a 97-2003 worksheet, but get the same results. I have never seen this in the 10 years I've been using this software and am wondering what it is and what it affects.
