Hello,

So, you have an UML model that's written in Visio and need to convert it to .xml file to import into your empty GDB (if I'm wrong, let me know!).

This web link has all the information that I'll describe below:
http://resources.arcgis.com/content/building-geodatabases-case-tools

If you're going to use Visio 2007, follow the directions here (it's different from Visio 2002/2003):
For UML/XMI compatibility, Microsoft Visio 2007 Professional can be used as CASE tools for geodatabase schema design. Microsoft Visio 2007 Service Pack 2 is required to complete the process. For further information, see the article on Can Microsoft Visio 2007 be used as a CASE tools for geodatabase schema design?

Once you convert your .vsd model into .xml file by using ESRIExportToXml tool (described in the link above), you can use CASE Tools to import your .xml file into an empty GDB.

"CASE Tools Tutorial - ZIP - 1125 kb" under "Supporting Files:" will have the information that you need as well (note that this document was written for UML model created in Visio 2002/2003, so you may see a difference with using Visio 2007).

Hope it helps,
Katsura
