Unregistering GDB Replication - does this need to be done on both parent & child

Hi,

I wish to confirm that its 'normal' when unregistering a gdb rep that this needs to be done on both your parent & your child (in my case for 1-way)?  I notice that if i unregister on a parent, the child does not appear to have the gdb rep registration cleared up?  Is this as expected?

ArcGIS SDE 10 SP1 on SQL Server (both parent & child).

Appreciate any clarification from anyone.

Cheers

Hi Brad,

When you unregister a replica, you need to unregister it from both parent side and child side.

Ben,

Thanks for the prompt response & clarification.

Perhaps its me but i cannot find this info documented anywhere in the help doc & hence I raised the forum post.  Can you confirm there it is documented in the Help but if not can you look at enhancing this section of configuration.

Unregistering a replica is mentioned in the topic below.
http://help.arcgis.com/en/arcgisdesktop/10.0/help/index.html#/A_quick_tour_of_replica_management/002...

You make a valid point that it's not as clear as it could be that you need to unregister the parent and the child replicas separately.  I will make an enhancement request to clarify this portion of the help.

Thanks for your question and your feedback.
