Hi there,
I have several thousand bird flightlines on a map and I would like to be able to split each one into 1km sections. I can do this for individual lines (using the "Divide Line by Length" Add-in) but doing this for all my lines will take rather a long time. Does anyone know of a way to split all my lines into 1km sections at once?

Any help would be most gratefully received - I am something of a GIS novice
With thanks and best wishes

I have ETGeowizards and it has a batch split lines tool.  I don't know if it is one of the free or paid tools.

For a free approach you might check out: http://nodedangles.wordpress.com/2011/05/01/quick-dirty-arcpy-batch-splitting-polylines-to-a-specifi....  I have not used this so I can't vouch for its value.

You, sir, are a hero! I got that download to work no problem and it appears to work like a dream.
Can't thank you enough
