Reverse COGO?

Hello,

I have a set of polygons and I want to generate COGO descriptions for their boundaries.  What would be the easiest way to do this?  I have ArcInfo 10.1.

Thomas, the easiest way is to create lines from polygon boundaries using the following steps, then annotate or label those.

Convert the polygons to a line feature class. See Polygon To Line (Data Management)
Create two-point lines in the line feature class. See Splitting features into COGO lines
Delete the duplicate lines. See Delete Identical (Data Management)
Create COGO attributes on the lines. See Adding COGO fields to a feature class
Update the COGO attributes on the lines. See Updating COGO attributes

If you are regularly updating parcel boundaries and want to maintain the cogo attributes you should look into the parcel fabric or the core cogo tools.
