Hi

You can recalculate SDE layer's spatial indexes within the feature class properties when you load it into SDE; I am trying to create a model which does this, trouble is I cannot find this option within ArcToolbox.

I can only find 'Add Spatial Index' (I do not know the spatial index of the feature class which is why I am looking for a recalculate option).

Is there one that exists within ArcToolbox? As I cannot seem to find it! 😞

Any help will be great, thanks a lot.

You can use the Add SpatialIndex tool to recalc the spatial index. Just specify 0,0,0 for the grids like you would if you were using the 'sde' commands.

Excerpt from Help file:

"If you are unfamiliar with setting spatial grid sizes or are unsure of what values to use, use the default values of 0,0,0. When default values are input, this tool will calculate an optimal grid size by examining all the input features. "
