Problems with new function "Mosaic to new raster"

Dear all,

I want to merge several tif-files from Aster_DEM30m to get one raster. I used the "mosaic to new raster" function, but when I checked the values for certain pixels I discovered that some of the pixel values are chancing! Some pixels have the same value as the "original" tif-file, but some have a different value. And these are no pixels in overlapping areas of the orginal files.

I would be very thankful for any help!!

What version of ArcGIS are you using?  If you are using ArcGIS 10, I would recommend creating a mosaic dataset.

I am using ArcGIS 10. After hours of trying I found out that the problem seems to be connected to File-Geodatabase. I exported the original DEM-tif-files into a Geodatabase because I hoped to speed up the process by doing that. Of course I also chose the Geodatabase as "Output Location" for "Mosaic to new raster". The resulting raster had not always the same pixel values as the original raster. When I chose a folder and not a geodatabase as Output Location, it suddenly worked without problems! I don't understand why but it seems like Geodatabase and raster are not a good combination for the Tool "Mosaic to new raster".
