Hi I am attempting to set up an infrastructure layout for a small-scale hydro solution. My question is:
If you know where you would like to source the water in a stream and know where you would like to place your balancing tank (forebay) above the turbine, how can you calculate the route the pipe/canal should follow, from source to balancing tank? The pipe is gravity fed, should follow the shape of the terrain and the slope should also be relatively consitent (much like the headrace in the attached image).
