Oracle sde direct connect "No ArcSDE server license found"

Using ArcDesktop 10.1 using direct connection to Oracle 11.2.0.1 I'm getting error:  "No ArcSDE server license found".

The connection worked fine up until this morning. I was a beta tester, but everything I'm using is a 10.1pre license.

I have a call in to tech support, but they are apparently very busy this morning.

The database was created with 10.1 beta so it had an Apr 2 expiration date.

Solution:

Run Toolboxes\System Toolboxes\Data Management Tools.tbx\Geodatabase Administration\Enable Enterprise Geodatabase

Select the SDE connection in your "Database Connections" folder
then select a valid authorization.resps file for ArcServer
