ODP.NET to access st_geometry data

We would like to use ODP.NET to access ArcSDE data in Oracle stored in st_geometry format.
Is this supported by ESRI?
Does anybody out there use it?
Is it possible to run the st_ ESRI function (for example st_buffer) using this connection?
