I have created a mosaic dataset and added a raster in it. Then I opened the attributes table and clicked on Start Editing in Editor toolbox. It is giving me the error ""No editable layers".
I am not able to find what is the reason. Please help.

You can unregister the mosaic dataset as versioned, and then add the additional raster datasets.  First, you should execute a Compress, then execute the Unregister as Versioned tool.

If you need to edit the footprints and then add new raster datasets often, take a look at Configuring an ArcMap edit session to perform nonversioned edits.

Hi Nikhil,

Is your Mosaic Dataset stored in SDE?  If so, you'll have to register the footprint layer as versioned.  After the mosaic dataset is added to ArcMap, you can run the Register As Versioned geoprocessing tool and select the 'Footprint' layer.

Hi Jake,

Thank you very much for your response.

What I noticed after using the "Register as Versioned" the editing could be performed. But I am now not able to add rasters in the mosaic dataset anymore.
When I try to add raster using tool "Add Raters to Mosaic Dataset", it gives me error that
"Cannot create insert cursor using the mosaic dataset.
Objects in this class cannot be updated outside an edit session."

I have also check that there is no edit session left started.
What to so in this case? I am attaching the error below.
