I am working with a group of students doing a geocoding assignment. We created our own address locators from the county addrfeat shapefile. We then attempted to geocode a small set of addresses from the same excel spreadsheet that was distributed to the class. For 1/4 of us the process worked as intended. For the other 3/4, it not only found zero matched addresses, but zero unmatched as well. There were no addresses recognized at all. But we all used the same spreadsheet. To see if it might be the address locator, I uploaded mine and had them download and use it. It made no difference. I have watched each student perform the steps and nothing appears any different from when I go through the steps. What could be causing this to happen?
