I've created a master mosaic dataset that is made up of other mosaic datasets (the recommeded way to handle multiple years of imagery in 1 mosaic dataset.
I see you can set the default properties in a way as the most recent image will always be on top when brought into a mapdocument, but is there a way to make it default so when it is added to a mapdocument it will only show the latest imagery. Basically, I'd like to have it so whenever the mosaic dataset is added to a .mxd, only the latest imagery will be displayed. Yes this can be done by writing a definition query on the dataset after it's been added to the .mxd, but I'd like this to take place before it is even added.
