Latitude Longitude Geocoding

I have spreadsheet data with columns of Lat/Longs, along with the data that I'd like to display on the map. Can anyone tell me how to use the Lat/Long data to geocode and tie the data to the specific points. This is for a world map.

an update and a problem. 

found that i apparently did not have an account with ArcGis - so created one. 

then had to 'find' notepad - apparently i can search for software on my system - who knew?  (had to contact IT to find out)

Transferred all my longitude/latitude data to a notepad file and saved. 

Went to 'my account' - selected 'add item' - selected notepad file. 

Received error message: Error  This file type is not supported.

what the??

I'd like to think you have figured this out by now, but if you haven't you can send me your data file and I can look it over.

Typically its a fairly smooth process.  I'd guess there is something wrong with your formatting.
