Intersection Points

Hello,

I am new to GIS and am working with 10. I am creating road maps for Nevada. One of the things I noticed is that not all intersection points were created. If the road line appears to be continuous from point A to point B and there is a roadway intersecting it, Arc will ignore the intersect, treating it as if one roadway is an "overpass" or a "bridge" relating to the other; that they are not on the same surface.

Does anyone know if there is an effective way to identify which points on the map do not have intersections and then to apply an intersection point automatically and all at once? Or do I actually have to review every point on the map and do them individually (gosh, I hope not)?

Thank you all - Michelle

You should look at the Feature to Line tool. It's very useful for this type of thing. Also, if you are only interested in seeing the intersection points, you can use the intersect tool with roads as the only input (point as output type).
